Course Overview
This training program is intended to be an operator training course which can be attended by all personnel who operate overhead cranes. Upon successful completion of the classroom and hands-on portion of the training program, the students will be able to demonstrate the proper skills necessary for the safe operation and use of overhead cranes.
Course Title: Overhead Crane Competent Person Training
Course Description: This comprehensive 8-hour training program, developed by SafetyNet Inc., is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely inspect, maintain, and operate overhead cranes. The course covers a wide range of topics, including:
- Regulatory Compliance: OSHA standards and ANSI guidelines related to overhead crane operations.
- Crane Components and Functions: Understanding the various parts of an overhead crane and their functions.
- Pre-Operational Inspections: Identifying potential hazards and conducting thorough inspections before each use.
- Safe Operating Procedures: Proper techniques for lifting, moving, and placing loads.
- Load Handling and Rigging: Selecting and using appropriate rigging equipment for different types of loads.
- Emergency Response: Procedures for handling malfunctions and emergencies.

Certification: Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate of completion from SafetyNet Inc., valid for a specified period.
