It is intended for employees who may work in areas where asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) are present, but who do not perform abatement work. Asbestos Awareness Training is a basic level of training. It does not qualify individuals to work directly with or remove asbestos. For workers involved in asbestos abatement or specific operations and maintenance tasks that involve directly handling ACMs, higher levels of specialized training and certification are required.
